Pima Association of Governments, which was established in 1973, has three major program areas: transportation planning, environmental planning and technical services.
The Transportation Planning Division conducts long-range and short-range transportation planning for the Pima County region. The division also is responsible for travel demand management activities, such as RideShare and the Travel Reduction Program, operations and safety programs, bicycle and pedestrian programs, and coordinating and supporting intermodal transportation systems.
The Environmental Planning Division conducts air quality planning, water quality planning, promotional efforts to educate the public on clean fuel alternatives, and regional planning to identify energy renewal strategies.
The Technical Services Division generates transportation modeling, traffic counts, population projections, and GIS maps and aerial photos of the region for regional planning applications. |
